I thought of it as someone telling another person it was their first time. As in, they still had their v-card. And the other person had them place it in quotes. Meaning, they're definitely lying.
is it funny that 1/2 of the people on this string don't realize that the second person is correcting the first person's grammar? Text or not, you all still need to learn your grammar rules. Go back to middle school.
yes, as the person above me stated, 859 covers most of kentucky. eastern ky is 606, western is 270, and the rest is pretty much 859. if you don't know what you're talking about, stfu.
The whole possessive vs contraction issue, not funny. However, some one thinking it's important to correct grammar in a text...funny. Who the fuck are you pretentious people who find it necessary to correct the grammar in a text message. Are you that desperate to feel superior in some insignificant way...
I think this post is being over analyzed. In my opinion the humor comes from the fact that the second person is actually trying to correct first person's grammar in a text. Who the fuck adheres to proper grammar in a text?! And who would be so condescending and pompous as to try to make such a correction in a case where the intended meaning is so clear?!
Its is possessive. As in the dog's, or its. It's is a contraction for 'it is'. Please don't be a dipshit. The second text was right in the correction. Either way, this was the least funny quote this site has ever posted,
to settle it once and for all for all you idiots out here... 859 was the new area code started in 2000 when the new census came out, it stands for UKY look it up on your phone, i promise you, it started in LEXINGTON and branched out. I live in LEXINGTON and have an 859 area code... stop bitching you fucking sewer rats in dayton and newport, just because you all have cell phone towers because cincinnati is right across the river does NOT AT ALL make you important
umm.... i'm pretty sure we didn't need 1892347293487 people explaining the difference between "it's" and "its"
....juuuust sayin.
one would have been good, thanks.
three things:
1). 859 is all over the place. i'm from richmond, which is south of lexington, and that's my area code too. when i lived in berea, which is south of richmond, that was my area code there as well.
2). "i think its meant to be funny bc thats the reaction....a correction of grammer as opposed to a reaction of this person saying its (or it's) my first time." I agree, and if people need this explained to them, they're too dumb to get it.
3) "859 = lexington.....= dumb fucks." <-- fuck you.
hey fuck you 5:15 you dumb fucker, no this text is saying the bitch from lexington is saying oh yeah its my first time, and the dude from cincinnati is clearly saying yeah right "its my first time" as in the dumb whore is lying trying to make it seem like she's not really a whore
hey FUCK YOU june 21 2009 1144pm im not from dayton or newport but am very close to them they are not sewer rats. who the fuck do you thing you are to talk down? you are definitely no better.
I think the reason it is supposed to be funny is because the first text makes it seem like that person has seen their "first time," and the second person is correcting them saying that they are actually a virgin. It's not extremely funny, but it does make you think about how important an apostrophe is....

ha!!! hwoever posted this is actually the dumbass. 859 is northern kentucky areas. newport covington etc. def not LEXINGTON. the equation is SUPPOSED to look like this "859=northern kentucky=dumbass." and/or "513=cincinnati=criminal rapist.
i think its meant to be funny bc thats the reaction....a correction of grammer as opposed to a reaction of this person saying its (or it's) my first time.
it is just a superior cincinnatian rejecting a redneck kentuckian, that is all.
except for the fact that a majority of northern kentucky residents are about as far from being a redneck as you can get. The mason-dixon line should actually be about 100 miles south of where it is. hence why northern kentucky is included in the greater cincinnati area.
